Teenager arrested and bladed weapon seized in Bishopthorpe

North Yorkshire Police is now appealing for information after officers were called to Bishopthorpe at 11pm on Friday, March 28.

The force says there were reports of a ‘large scale gathering’ at a house in the Beech Avenue area which spilled out into the surrounding streets, including Maple Avenue.

A teenager was arrested in connection with the incident and a bladed weapon was recovered, police said. The teenager has since been released on bail.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Due to the nature of the incident, it is believed that more people may have been involved.

“As part of the investigation, we are appealing for witnesses to any violence or threats in the area on 28 March.”

Police are appealing for any doorbell, dashcam and CCTV footage that may have captured anyone in the Beech Avenue and Maple Avenue areas from 11pm onwards.
