Now, meet Ghost. The cat whomst is loved very much.
A ghost getting to live forever? Fun. This phantasmal feline won’t be haunting you anytime soon, but would certainly appreciate a visit every now and then.
Fans are responding, well exactly as you’d expect – with one user’s reply saying: “This is now my number one reason to play Shadows.”

To be specific, Ghost is in Assassin’s Creed Shadows as a Bakaneko – a unique supernatural being that’s apparently very difficult to find. A literal ghost, the in-game cat is apparently quite friendly, and will “bond for life” according to the in-game description.
Even among players, information about ghost cat is pretty scarce – but it’s a nice find, with a cool bit of real-world history for those who can spot it.

Easter eggs have been a long tradition of media, Assassin’s Creed and beyond. The aforementioned Minecraft Movie has a ton of them, and there were a few in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The ghost cat isn’t even the only easter egg to be found in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Players have already spotted a Dark Souls easter egg, and one for Demon Slayer.
