
Two balaclava-clad suspects, who ran off after the attack, are being sought by detectives making inquiries into the incident, in Stockton, at about 1.45am.
The Cleveland force said inquiries are ongoing into the attempt to set a car alight, before a brick and ignited flammable liquid were thrown through the window of a house on the Ragworth estate, at about 1.45am this morning.
Occupants of the house in Dover Road were said to be quickly able to put out the car fire.
The front window to the house was smashed and there was some scorch damage to the surrounding window frame.

A cordon was put in place around the attacked property earlier in the day as initial inquiries were made at the scene.
The fire service responded to report of the incident, with two appliances sent to the scene, which was reported at 1.49am.
