Coronation Street fans were left issuing the same verdict as Dylan Wilson lashed out at Sean Tully as Brody’s torment of them both escalates.
Those tuning into the ITV soap haven’t been a fan of Brody ever since he appeared as one of the fellow teens in the Secure Training Centre (STC) with Dylan earlier this year.
It came after Dylan was sentenced to six months in the STC by a judge for owning the knife, which eventually killed Mason Radcliffe in harrowing scenes at the start of the year.
Dylan was clearly nervous has he began his sentence following an emotional farewell with his dad, Sean and once in the STC, Brody soon spoke to new boy Dylan after teacher Daniel Osbourne’s appearance as he cottoned on to them knowing each other.
But in recent weeks, Brody’s behaviour has been becoming more concerning with torment and blackmailing. Then, as viewers saw, the teen asked Sean to smuggle a burner phone into the prison, threatening him that he would make Dylan’s life a misery if he didn’t comply.
Sean asked Daniel about Brody later, and Daniel confirmed he was a serial offender and it would be dangerous for Dylan to cross him. At first, Sean decided not to give Brody the phone and planned to report him.
But Dylan begged his dad not to, but couldn’t convince him to smuggle the phone. Getting his own revenge, Brody and his mates wrecked Dylan’s room and threatened him that things would get worse if Sean didn’t come up with the phone – which he has since done.
During Wednesday night’s (April 16) episode of Corrie, Sean was still being pestered by Brody for £500. Unable to get his hands on the cash, he asked Glenda Shuttleworth if she could lend him £500, claiming he needed it for bills.
Glenda was unable to help, and the pressure was on when Sean called Brody’s burner phone and tried to explain he couldn’t get the money. Desperate, at Underworld, Sean eyed the fundraiser box full of cash for terminally ill Julie Carp.
Soon after, Eileen Grimshaw was shocked when Julie’s funds were found empty, and George Shuttleworth relayed that Sean had asked Glenda for a hefty sum. Sean soon confessed and ended up explaining why he needed the money.
Meanwhile, in the STC, Brody kicked Dylan on the floor and as the attack was taking place, a prison officer ordered Brody in for a chat with the director of the centre.
Dylan was also hauled in for questioning after his dad’s meddling but he lied that Brody hadn’t done anything wrong. Later in the visiting room, Sean was shocked to hear that Dylan had made him look like a liar.
Not wanting his dad to get involved, Dylan said his mum, Violet, was right and brutally branded his dad a waste of space, reminding Sean that he now had a target on his back as well as him.
But it’s fair to say Corrie fans weren’t happy with Dylan’s attitude towards Sean and issued the same verdict on social media. @johnneladderley said: “Send Dylan back to Violet, you don’t need the stress Sean. Please, give Sean a love story.”
@lindylou127 commented: “How about send Dylan back to his Mother who has been absent through all the trouble he’s brought to the street. Give Sean a nice love interest and get him back making Betty’s hotpot.”
@xjeankellyx wrote: “I feel so sorry for Sean.” @charlottejadelouisejoyce posted: “Dylan should’ve stayed with his mum in London…” @tinassweetpaws added: “Sean should let Dylan get on with it now and tell the bully to jog on.”
Meanwhile, fans previously thought they had worked out Brody’s parents after he revealed they had moved to Weatherfield to Dylan. But others think there is a twist on the cards.
@SouthernCazza1 said: “That brat Brody is the spawn of the devil AKA Lou and Mick! #Corrie.” @Wee_Westie29 commented: “Lou and Kit – He’s Kit’s son. #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie,” to which @B73Shell replied: “Which also means that Gemma is his Auntie.”
