The land, measuring approximately 310.78 square metres, is located in the Randolph Street Play Area.
Residents can view a detailed plan of the area at the Corporate Property and Land offices in County Hall, Durham.
The council is required by law to inform the public of its intention to sell the land and to consider any objections.
Those who wish to object to the sale or make any representations have until April 14, 2025, to do so.
