Black Desert buffs classes on PC, issues glowy weapon effect on mobile, and recaps 9th birthday

It’s time once again for the PC players of Black Desert to watch as Pearl Abyss turns the knobs on more classes and their abilities, ideally without dramatically wailing in despair over what’s being changed. We will preface by saying that most of these tweaks appear to be falling on the buff side of the scale.

Indeed, a wide assortment of skills have gotten improvements to damage, cooldown times, or effect benefits, though some abilities have been completely changed wholesale in the interest of balance. For example, the Magic Lighthouse ability for the Witch and Wizard no longer draws aggro in PvE and instead increases max MP and MP recovery. Obviously this all gets very granular, so players will want to read through the notes for more.

In addition to the class tuning, this week’s update on PC brings another lineup of events, adjusts monster strength and appearance on the hardcore server (which will end its run on April 10th, by the way), and adds a new deployable item in the Red Battlefield Castle Ruins map. The MMORPG has also shared stats from its recent ninth anniversary celebration that notes number of goodies earned from opening gift boxes, the length of obtained hot time, and the winners of an in-game auction.

Meanwhile on BDO Mobile, the April Fools’ additions that were jokingly “added” to the game have been wiped away in favor of actual updates that include a coupon code to add a unique weapon effect, new crafting event missions that award an ancient chest, and the spawning of new temples in the Great Desert area that are full of silver. Mobile players are also seeing their own series of class tweaks and some error fixes.

Finally on BDO Console, a patch that was scheduled for the 1st has instead been pushed back to April 4th instead. Obviously patch notes are not available, but the preliminary announcement confirms class adjustments and an increase to the Dim Origin of Dark Hunger’s enhancement chances are en route.
