Bold and the Beautiful: Eric Puts Ridge on Notice – Despite Casualties Piling Up

Bold and the Beautiful: Eric Forrester Takes Charge of Fixing Ridge Forrester

Eric Forrester (John McCook) is probably the most respected character in the Forrester family today on The Bold and the Beautiful soap. But it looks like he’s about to put that to the test with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig).

Bold and Beautiful had Eric hit the screen with some authority for this newest storyline. He not only inserted himself back into the company as a driving force, but Eric is also about to clean up his family’s mess, starting with Ridge.

B&B: Eric Comes Down Hard on Ridge

Bold and the Beautiful has Ridge Forrester in a quandary. He is not sure whether he is upset with Eric Forrester or if he should follow his father’s guidance. But even though he seems to lean towards knowing Eric has his best interest at heart, he is not letting on.

Ridge fights against what he feels about his future with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). But he likely knows his father is right; Brooke is his destiny.

Eric came down hard on Ridge in their last conversation over Brooke. Ridge accused his father of putting together the showstopper to push him and Brooke together.

Eric Forrester didn’t deny this; he came right out and said that was his intention behind the change in the showstopper. And he would do it again because he believes Brooke Logan holds the key to Ridge Forrester’s happiness .

Bold and the Beautiful: Casualties in the Aftermath…

Eric tells Ridge that he made a “big mistake,” and it is time for him to admit that so he can go on with his life with Brooke. The Forrester patriarch said he respects Taylor, but he believes Ridge knows who he is meant to be with – Brooke.

Ridge and Eric started yelling at each other, with Ridge screaming at his dad that he can’t play God with his life. But this well-meaning father isn’t backing down – he tells his son they both know where this ends. And… that’s with Ridge going back to Brooke.

Bold and the Beautiful fans split into two teams over this. Some say Eric should mind his own business, while others see him as a caring father who thinks his son is making a big mistake. Eric tells Ridge that he is glad Taylor makes him happy, but Brooke is the love of his life.

Now the caring father’s next conquest is Steffy Forrester, who won’t let her father leave her mother. So, this grandfather needs to pull more of the gruff advice he gave Ridge Forrester out of his fix-it bag when speaking to Steffy.

B&B: The Toughest Conversation for Eric…

But the hardest conversation Eric Forrester will have among all the Bold and Beautiful players is probably with Taylor Hayes. This woman is already worried that Brooke has her claws into Ridge. So if Eric suddenly appeared in front of her, suggesting she let his son go, it would only offer more evidence to what she’s thinking – she’s about to lose Ridge.

Taylor can’t think that she won the war. Maybe she won a small battle now that Ridge is with her. But she didn’t win the war with Brooke, as Taylor has to know deep down he will eventually go back to his Logan.

Ridge denies his need to go back to Brooke around every turn. He denies it to his father, to Steffy, to Taylor, and to Brooke herself. He repeats a few times that he made a commitment to Taylor, and it is a commitment he intends to keep.

But maybe he is fooling himself. Or better yet, maybe he is willing to bypass his happiness with Brooke while staying with Taylor. His “Doc” is safer in his eyes than his “Logan.” He sees Taylor as the woman who never lets him down. In comparison, he looks at Brooke as the woman who has betrayed him several times during their life together.

Today, Bold and the Beautiful fans wait for Ridge to finally do what he always does – dump Taylor and go back to Brooke. Or… maybe not.
