Gak Music Emporium in North Laine has been closed since Tuesday, March 25 with shutters drawn over the distinctive yellow shopfront.
Although a sign in the window said it was “closed for maintenance”, the shop is now displaying a To Let sign from Flude Property Consultants, a Brighton based chartered surveyors.

Staff could be seen packing stock into boxes this week.
For weeks, speculation has been swirling online about the future of the Brighton institution, but the store has not responded when approached for comment by The Argus.
