Dakota Johnson stars as Lucy, a professional matchmaker in New York, facing impossible decisions about her own love life in the new trailer for Materialists.
The project, from Oscar-nominated Céline Song, also stars Pedro Pascal as Randy, Lucy’s perfect – and ridiculously wealthy – match, and Chris Evans as John, Lucy’s not-so-perfect ex.

What is Materialists about?
It’s described as a rom-com though it’s certainly feeling like more of a drama!
The film follows the story of Lucy, an ambitious and successful matchmaker who meets the handsome and charming Randy (played by Pascal) at an event where she also reconnects with her ex, sweet but struggling John (played by Evans).
In the trailer, we see John asking Lucy if she will marry Randy and what follows is tears and an emotional rollercoaster for all involved.
It’s written and directed by Céline Song marking her second major film project.
Who else is cast in the film?
In addition to the all-star lead cast of Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, the film also stars Marin Ireland, Louisa Jacobson, Zoe Winters, Sawyer Spielberg and Dasha Nekrasova.
When will Materialists be released?
The film is due in cinemas from June 13.
