BMW is integrating DeepSeek into its models in China, which will be available from the third quarter this year, said the German premium carmaker on Sunday.
“Artificial intelligence is a prime area for future cooperation and perfectly demonstrates how we are building out our local anchoring,” said Oliver Zipse, chairman of the BMW Group.
The first models to feature DeepSeek will be the BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase, the BMW i5, and the all-new BMW X3 Long Wheelbase, all equipped with the carmaker’s 9th-generation operating system.
BMW said it will make the feature available existing customers with vehicles running the 9th-generation operating system.
DeepSeek will also become a standard across China-made Neue Klasse models, which are expected to roll out in 2026, said the carmaker.
