Elsa Pataky admits marriage ‘needs constant work’ as she lifts lid on relationship with Chris Hemsworth

Elsa Pataky, 48, has made a candid admission about her long-lasting marriage to Chris Hemsworth, 41.

The Spanish actress, known for the likes of Fast Five, has been married to the Aussie star for 15 years now. They currently reside in sunny Byron Bay with their three kids. 

Over the years, the celebrity couple have largely kept their relationship private. But in a new interview with Hello! Magazine, Pataky admitted “marriage needs constant work”.

When asked the secret behind their long-lasting marriage, the star added “you learn a lot from the rough patches”.

She continued: “You have to try to keep growing together, making sure that your paths carry on crossing.

“It’s about finding the fun, enjoying the little moments and remaining curious about each other. You have to be ready to adapt, and because there are situations that separate you, you need to know how to find each other again.”

In the same chat, Pataky revealed her favourite thing about Hemsworth is his humour.

The couple have been married since 2010.

They tied the knot just three months after their agent set them up together.

When being awarded with his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year, Hemsworth gave a special shoutout to Pataky, who was watching on in the audience.

”I want to say thank you to my beautiful wife, who has been here for my entire career basically by my side, endlessly encouraging and supportive,” he said.

“And it doesn’t get lost on me that she put aside her own dreams in order to support mine and, again, [I am] forever in your debt.”

Pataky and Hemsworth welcomed their first child, daughter India Rose, in May 2012.

They then had twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, in March 2014.

Hemsworth opened up about his parenting tactics to 9Honey Celebrity on the red carpet for the Sydney premiere of Transformers One. 

”They’re constantly going from friends to enemies, you know?” he said when addressing how he manages conflict between his three kids at home.

“It’s kind of what siblings do. It’s pretty similar to how it was in my household [growing up],” he said, adding that “as long as they end up back friends the, you know, you gotta kind of give it space.”
