Just a week after blowing out their first birthday candles, Gabourey Sidibe’s twins are already hitting another sweet milestone, air travel!
In a recent social media post, Sidibe’s husband, Brandon Frankel, shared a carousel of images of she, himself, and their twins. One of the highlighted images was of Cooper and Maya on an airplane for the first time.
“Coop & Maya do their first plane trip. I honestly can’t handle all the cuteness,” the father-of-two began his post.
“Getting to help you both grow up and getting to watch you get bigger by the day is one of the highest honors and privileges of my entire life. Thank you for bringing us so much joy,” he concluded.
On April 16, Sidibe shared her own carousel of images, wishing her son and daughter a happy first birthday. The 41-year-old began her caption, “HAPPY HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY COOPER & MAYA!!!”
She continued, “Can’t believe a whole year of loving you has gone by. You make your Mom and me so proud every single day! You’re the most hilarious, sweet, well-behaved babies. It’s been an honor to get to know you both and help you grow into the little miniature people you are- walking, talking, dancing, hugging, kissing, demanding songs, calling every animal “CAT!”, eating big people food- just the absolute best. And we can’t wait to watch you continue to learn, grow, and explore the world. We LOVE being your parents- the best is yet to come! HAPPY HAPPY ONE YEAR MY LOVES.”
Gabourey Sidibe has been refreshingly candid about her parenting journey, recently telling People Magazine that while “motherhood is consuming,” she’s learning to carve out time for herself—a vital reminder many moms tend to overlook.
“I would say take the time to — it feels stupid to say — hold space for yourself. Take the time and enjoy this peace, where there’s not a tiny human asking you for things at all times. But, [also] really remember who you are. Really take the time and take the space to do it and re-fall in love with yourself really. Because truly, motherhood is so consuming.”
As her twins continue to grow and reach new milestones, Sidibe is soaking in every precious moment of motherhood one unforgettable memory at a time, and we are so grateful that she is taking us along for the ride!
