CLAS, which provides furniture and appliance subscription services, announced on the 24th that it has raised a total of 2.53 billion yen through multiple methods including third-party allotment of shares, sale and leaseback, revenue-based financing, loans, and bond issuance including high-yield bonds. The company had announced securing a 600 million yen loan facility from Mizuho Bank in June this year.

Spotlight and SBI Investment underwrote the third-party allotment of shares, while Showa Lease, Yoii, and one other company responded to asset financing, and Mizuho Bank, Nagoya Bank, UPSIDER Capital, Funds Startups, Fivot, and one other company provided loans.

In recent years, there have been cases where the cost of raising funds solely through equity has become relatively expensive, and depending on the business and business model, funding methods combining revenue-based financing, corporate bonds, venture debt (loans combined with stock acquisition rights), and pure loan facilities are being considered.

CLAS operates businesses such as “CLAS,” a furniture and appliance rental and subscription service; “CLAS BUSINESS” for corporate offices; and “CLAS Home Staging” and “Furnished Rental Service” that support interior coordination for real estate agents.

In the service for individuals, furniture and appliances can be rented on a monthly basis starting from one item. It can be used at a low cost starting from 2% of the purchase price, and users can return, exchange, or purchase products at their own timing.

The service for corporations has been adopted by a wide range of clients regardless of industry or business scale, from sole proprietors and venture companies to large corporations, developers, and house manufacturers. It meets various needs of companies, such as office appliance and furniture rental, model rooms, and use in furnished rentals.

According to the company’s release, as of February 2025, the number of individual users has reached 250,000, and the number of corporate accounts has reached 2,800. In the fourth quarter of 2024, sales increased by 35% compared to the same period of the previous year, and operating profit turned positive. The multiple methods of fundraising this time were made possible by the evaluation of achievements including the sustainability of positive operating cash flow.

CLAS plans to use the funds raised to expand its product base and procure furniture and appliances for stable supply of services.
