Garcelle Beauvais is setting the record straight. Following her dramatic exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the actress and TV personality is addressing those claiming she’s “changed.”
Taking to Instagram, Beauvais shared a powerful message: “No. I healed. I learned. I grew. I set boundaries. I stopped settling. I put myself first.”
The statement comes in the wake of her headline-making departure from RHOBH. In part three of the reunion episode, the cast gathers for a toast with actress Jennifer Tilly, who raises a glass “to friendship.” Host Andy Cohen chimes in with, “Cheers to another fabulous season. I’m excited to see where this group goes next!”before announcing, “Well guess what? We’re gonna get a cast photo.”
But Garcelle Beauvais wasn’t having it. “I’m out,” she declares, setting her glass down and walking off stage. “I’m not. I’m not doing it.”
A visibly surprised Cohen responds, “For real?” as Beauvais continues to make her exit. Fellow castmate Dorit Kemsley calls after her, “Garcelle, that’s really unprofessional. That’s not cool!”
The reunion was taped on February 28, and less than a month later, on March 25, Beauvais officially announced she was leaving the show. It’s clear this is where she felt she was putting herself first.
