George Clooney misses his silver locks.

At the unveiling of his Sardi’s portrait in New York City, the Hollywood icon couldn’t help but crack a joke about his new hair colour.

Sardi’s is an iconic Italian restaurant famous for having served actors and theatregoers for decades. The restaurant displays caricature portraits of several Broadway and Hollywood stars in what has become a time-honoured tradition.

This time it was Clooney’s turn to receive his own portrait and when he saw the portrait he immediately noticed one thing – his silver hair.

“I like the hair colour. It’s much better than my hair colour right now,” Clooney said, per People.

Recently, Clooney died his hair a dark brown for his Broadway debut, Good Night and Good Luck. It’s a stark contrast from the silver hair he is known for.

“That’s better. It’s grey, mostly grey. There we are, thank you so much,” he added.

His attendance at the unveiling in New York City come just days after Clooney revealed that he hasn’t had a fight with his wife Amal Alamuddin despite 10 years together.

Speaking on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, 70, ER star Clooney, 63, said the pair ”are having a really great time in life”.

After saying their twins “are funny and make us laugh,” Clooney touched on his relationship with Amal, who he married back in a palace in Italy’s Venice in September 2014.

“Amal and I, I remember we were here with you once before, and I remember we said we’d never had an argument. We still haven’t,” Clooney admitted.

“We’re trying to find something to fight about!”

He went on to praise his partner and added, “I think because I started so late with Amal.”

“I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman. I feel as if I hit the jackpot,” he said.

“There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world. So it’s great.”

He also commented on his new dark hair for one of his latest roles and said Amal finds the look ”funny”.

“My wife, she thinks it’s funny… nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair,” he added with a laugh.
