More Details On Georgia Mom’s Tragic Passing

According to the New York Post, Tasha died of heart complications at Waycross Hospital on April 13. She was 48 years old. Her family has since attributed her death to “sheer heartbreak” over the loss of her son just two weeks prior, with whom she shared an “unbreakable” bond. The two were described as “best friends who did everything together” in a GoFundMe to support Tasha’s funeral costs. Additionally, the fundraiser mentioned the impact Tee’Andrick’s death had on his mom, stating, “The pain of losing her son was too much for her heart to bear.”

Tasha Lawson Mourned Her Son In Final Interview

In an interview with WTOC just days after her son’s tragic death, Tasha Lawson opened up about the devastating loss of her son. Sitting alongside her daughter, Terreona Harrison, for support, she shared some very heartbreaking details about the day her son passed, revealing the horrific injuries he suffered during the attack. Tasha admitted she had not seen the body for herself, but added, “They say he’s very brutalized and stuff, it’s really bad.” Further in the interview, she broke down and wiped tears from her face as she reminisced about her son.

“I can’t wake him up as I go to the store with me, I can’t do none of that. He just didn’t deserve what they done to him. […] And the ones that did it, I got along with y’all. Y’all came to my house. Y’all ate my food. Y’all did all that, but then come do this to my boy?”

How Tee’Andrick Passed Away

Tee’Andrick was home alone when two men allegedly broke into his family’s house and confronted him. When Tee’Andrick’s brother couldn’t get a hold of him after multiple unanswered calls, he went to check on him and found his lifeless body in his bedroom.

According to WTOC, Tee’Andrick died from his gruesome injuries. As of now, the police haven’t made a single arrest in connection with his death. The family has claimed the attack was a hate crime, stating Tee’Andrick’s killers targeted him because of his sexuality. They also appear to have suspicions that the people responsible for his death may not be strangers to their family. “He thought he was safe, and he was not safe. And for it to be people that’s literally right across the road, like, I can’t,” Terreona said. “Everybody accepted him but the men who couldn’t accept themselves.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is still digging into the case and hasn’t officially labeled the case a hate crime yet.
