Sebsatian said he was washing his car at a car wash, with the vehicle previously been reported as stolen and alleged to have been part of an illegal towing incident, when police showed up and the arrest happened.

”I see this police car pull up and then another police call pulls up and I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s carwash time, break time for the cops’,” he recalled.

“Next minute, there’s eight or nine cops with their guns drawn, saying, ‘Get on the f–king ground, is there anything in your pockets?’ and he pulls my phone… it was like a movie.

“I’m going, ‘This is my car, my paperwork, my ID is there on the front seat… I’m actually on the phone to you guys now’ but they wouldn’t hear it!

“They put me in cuffs and [were] pushing my face into this wet concrete where the car wash is. I was so confused, I was like, ‘What’s wrong with you guys?” I was trying to explain!”

Sebastian, known for songs including Battle Scars and Angels Brought Me Here, said he was living at Ian Thorpe’s house in LA at the time and had bought a car from eBay before the arrest mishap.

“I parked my car there, I went back and my car was gone,” he explained.

Before the arrest, the singer had told local police he thought his car had been stolen, but they said it had actually been towed.

Sebastian said the car was soon marked as stolen, which is presumably what influenced the arrest.

He claimed the towing was part of a “scam” – known as illegal towing – and he had to fork out $4,000 to get the car back from a towing company that had taken it “nights before, just took it out of my driveway”.

“Turned out they towed it nights before, just took it out of my driveway, apparently it’s a scam they do,” he alleged about illegal towing in LA.

“I’m livid,” he said about how he felt at the time after paying the cash to get his car back and before taking it to the car wash, where he was arrested.

According to reports, the incident took place back in 2011.

The arrest anecdote comes after it was revealed the former Australian Idol winner will be starring in the Australian Bollywood feature film called Hindi Vindi.

“Well, this may seem out of the blue… I joined the cast of a Bollywood movie earlier this year!!” he said.

“It was a surreal experience for me, working alongside a really stellar cast with iconic Bollywood actors, in my very first acting role – it was something that I will never forget.”
