How To Destroy The Hist Tree In Oblivion Remastered

You’ll need to burn down the Hist Tree to destroy it as part of the Fighters Guild questline The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

The Hist Tree is the target of the aptly titled “The Hist” quest. This tree produces a sap that’s particularly important to Argonians. However, the Blackwood Company is also using it to further its reckless and illegal activities. Burning down the tree should put a stop to them!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to easily complete this quest and burn down the Hist Tree.

How To Destroy The Hist Tree | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

As soon as you receive the quest from Modryn Oreyn in Chorrol, go to the southwestern part of Leyawiin. You will find the Blackwood Company Hall there. Prepare for a fight!

Once inside, you’ll need to kill Ja’Fazir, Jeetum-Ze, and Ri’Zakar. Sometimes they are out in the main hall, but other times they are inside their respective rooms. Make sure to loot them as you kill them, as you’ll get keys to open the rooms. Most notably, make sure to loot Ri’Zakar when you kill him to obtain the Basement Key.

When you have the Basement Key, go directly to the basement. The door to the basement is directly in front of the hall’s entrance, at the bottom of the stairs.

As soon as you enter the basement, take out the Blackwood Company members inside. Then, check the southern wall to find a pair of Loose Pipes by a wooden table. Pick these pipes up.

Then, just interact with the Sap Pumps on both sides of the Hist Tree. It should be easy to spot them since the Hist Tree is in the very middle of the room. Interacting will make your character use the pipes to clog the pumps, breaking them and causing a fire to burn the Hist Tree!

With that done, just leave the basement and you’ll be confronted by an enraged Maglir. Take him out and then just return to Modryn Oreyn back in Chorrol to complete the quest.
