The IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) killed the commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Shejaiya sector and an additional terrorist in June, the military confirmed on Friday.
The commander, Fadl Abu al-Ata, infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre and has directed multiple attacks against the IDF since the war began.
The IDF also announced the death of Hamed Kamel Abd al-Aziz Iyad, who was responsible for engineering and explosives within the PIJ Turukman Battalion.
IDF continued operations in Khan Yunis
The IDF’s 36th Division and the 188th Armored Brigade killed a terrorist cell in Khan Yunis, the IDF said earlier.
Additionally, they destroyed sites used for terror activities above and below ground, including a major underground tunnel route in Khan Yunis about one kilometer long.
The brigade’s troops coordinated with the Israel Air Force, as well as Yahalom soldiers, to carry out the operations.
Additionally, the IDF and Shin Bet killed Taha Abu Ayadeh, a terrorist from Hamas’s Nukhba force, in Khan Yunis, the military confirmed on Tuesday.

Abu Ayadeh led a platoon of Nukhba terrorists on October 7, infiltrating a gas station in Kibbutz Magen, the IDF stated.
During the Israel-Hamas War, Abu Ayadeh was also responsible for several terrorist attacks, including against IDF soldiers operating in the Khan Yunis area over recent weeks, the military added.
