ATX TV Fest Best of Day 1

Opening day at the ATX TV Fest set the tone in all the right ways. We laughed, we mingled, we heard some pretty unforgettable stories and we caught up with two comedy legends who showed us how it’s done.

George Wallace Has the Room in Stitches

Things kicked off with the one and only George Wallace, who gave us an unfiltered peek into his decades in the comedy world. He talked about his longtime friendship with Jerry Seinfeld, his ties to Adam Sandler and what makes his journey in show business different.

“I’ve done it all,” he said. “I’ve made the money. I’ve done the movies. I just didn’t pay the price those guys did.”

And then he hit us with the quote of the day.

“You know the difference between me, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld and Adam Sandler? I can still go pee.”

We’ll be using that analogy from here on out!

Happy Hours and Strong Connections

After that panel, we floated between launch events and happy hours. Our favorite? The Women in Film and Television gathering at the Hey Day Social Club. The vibe was warm, open and full of creative energy!

Seth Meyers Closes Out the Night Like a Pro

The Paramount Theatre was buzzing for Seth Meyers, and he delivered. hared stories from his SNL days, talked about building Late Night, and made us all feel like we were in on the joke.

And yes — during the Q&A, one audience member brought up that Bin Laden documentary. Seth’s response? Flawless. “We’re dear friends,” he deadpanned. Then added, “I once played the blue-eyed Bin Laden on SNL.” Only Seth Meyers could turn that moment into a mic drop.

If you want the full breakdown of that unforgettable opening night panel with Seth, you can read it right here.
