If you are missing Penn Badgley after that last (rather gruesome) season of You and just can’t get enough of Meghann Fahy after watching her epic performance in Sirens – girl, do I have some news for you!
Penn and Meghann are currently working on a new project together. Yes, two legends. One movie. Omg.
Amazon MGM studios has announced Penn and Meghann will play the lead roles in the upcoming romcom, You Deserve Each Other. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Hogle and follows the story of Nick and Naomi, a couple who are due to get married, live happily ever after and all that jazz. Except they don’t want to get married anymore! The love is gone, there’s lots of bickering and they spend their waking moments trying to figure out ways to get the other person to cancel the wedding.
Penn and Meghann are even giving us a taste of what we can expect with a now-viral Instagram exchange. Penn began by posting a video of himself praising Meghann for her role in Sirens. But it quickly descended into chaos – and hilarity – but mostly chaos, in the comments section:

“Penn, this is so kind. Thank you,” Meghann started. “Tell Domino I say hi. And that her taste is flawless,” she added referring to Penn’s wife, Domino Kirke-Badgley.
After a little back and forth, Meghann posted “chill on the body stuff” and Penn replied, “whoa I’ve obviously been very supportive and complimentary but this feels like a trap.”
It ended with Meghann writing “there you go again with that trapping thing. Heard you did a lot of that on your show. I never watched it” and Penn writing, “one Emmy loss and suddenly you’re Meryl Streep.”

According to a number of media outlets including Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn who are behind hits I Feel Pretty, Never Been Kissed and He’s Just Not That Into You, will be directing the movie.
No word yet on when production will begin, but yeah, we’re so here for this!
