A huge police scene was put in place following the incident in Salford
Horror footage shows the moment a suspected gun was pointed at a group in a Salford street on Monday evening (April 15).
The offender, seen on a bike, pointed the weapon, believed to be a firearm, at a crowd on Romney Street as they can be heard screaming in terror.
Armed police raced to the residential street and cordoned it off, along with nearby Littleton Road on Monday night with a police helicopter circling overhead. It’s thought the two incidents are linked.

A huge scene was put in place as the nearby area was evacuated. Witnesses reported seeing ‘at least 30’ armed officers, with police vans and ambulances in attendance.
Moment ‘gun’ is pointed at crowd in street
The mobile phone video, shared with the M.E.N, showed a male dressed in dark clothing appearing to point the weapon at a group in the street.
Shortly after, other footage showed armed officers arriving with one suspect seen lying on the ground with their arms behind their back.
No details have been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police, who have been approached for a statement. It is unclear if anyone was injured.
One resident of Romney Street said the incident erupted after a house party. “All of them were just being loud, I started recording to send it to my landlord which is the exact moment couple of boys started running,” they said.
“And then a guy on a bike with a lot of lights pulled out a handheld gun and he didn’t let it off, he just pulled it and aimed it.”
Multiple police vehicles were seen on Romney Street before adjoining Littleton Road was cordoned off. Bystanders said they were told to ‘evacuate the area’.

“We got told by a member of the public someone was seriously hurt and everybody had to evacuate the area,” one person said.
Describing the size of the police response, another local said: “There were at least 30 police cars.
“They were all the way from Littleton Road to the Shell Garage on Cromwell Road.”
