Star St Kilda forward Max King is set to undergo surgery on his right knee for the second time in less than two months as uncertainty remains over when he will be fit to return.
The Saints’ two-time leading goal-kicker suffered a knee injury at training on February 7, underwent surgery in late February, and is now set for another operation on Thursday.
St Kilda is yet to reveal a return-to-play timeline, but 9News Melbourne’s Tom Morris reports he’ll be sidelined from senior footy for at least another six weeks.

“Max King will undergo an arthroscope tomorrow to address an ongoing knee issue,” said St Kilda footy boss David Misson.
“The aim of the surgery is to remove the pain Max has been experiencing.
“We understand the interest in Max, however, [we] ask his privacy is respected at this time.
“Once we have more clarity on Max’s recovery we’ll look to share a return-to-play timeline.”

King hasn’t played footy at any level since round 17 of the 2024 AFL season.
The St Kilda spearhead injured his left knee last June and has since had trouble with his right knee.
In October, he signed a new eight-year deal reportedly worth $1 million a season.
St Kilda will face the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium on Sunday night.
