Pete Davidson’s dating history gets more wild the longer you think about it, and it turns out that his fellow comedians are probably as confused as we are.
On Wednesday’s episode of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, John was joined by Pete and comedian Luenell. The conversation kicked off as intended, but before long, Luenell revealed that she had a bone to pick with Pete. “I’ve been studying you,” she said to Pete, who was already shrinking in embarrassment next to her on the couch. “Oh boy… What’d you find?” he responded.
“To me, you’re just an average guy,” Luenell began. “But you continuously pull all these bad bitches. So, since I don’t get it, I want to know the mystique. Now, you’ve had Kim K, several other people, the little supermodel you’ve got right now. And I think for research, and for women across America, I think you should take me out.” And at the mention of Kim, Pete visibly squirmed and blurted out, “Oh god.”
Now, if you need a refresher on Pete’s dating life and the alleged “bad bitches” in question, here’s a quick recap. Some of Pete’s most famous exes include Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski (briefly), Margaret Qualley, Madelyn Cline, Kaia Gerber, Kate Beckinsale, and probably most notably, Kim Kardashian. Pete’s relationship with Kim lasted a good nine months — they dated between October 2021 and August 2022, hitting it off after Kim hosted Saturday Night Live, and the two shared a kiss as Jasmine and Aladdin in a sketch.
Kim and Pete made numerous public appearances together, including when he joined her on the red carpet at the Met Gala in 2022, featuring Kim’s controversial choice to wear Marilyn Monroe’s iconic jewelled dress. Fans of The Kardashians will also remember that one viral clip of the show, where Pete literally dropped everything to join Kim in the shower. However, the couple called it quits, which sources attributed to their long-distance relationship and individual busy schedules. In a subsequent episode of The Kardashians, Kim hinted that their split was partly tied to “guilt” surrounding her super messy divorce from Kanye “Ye” West.
For context, Pete was the first person that Kim dated after she split from Kanye in 2021, and, as you may remember, the rapper did not hold back in criticizing Pete online and in his music, so much so that people were legitimately concerned for his safety and well-being. It’s worth noting that Kim never directly confirmed the sole reason for her breakup with Pete, however, it was pretty clear that Ye’s harassment was probably a factor. Regardless, Kim and Pete seem to be on good terms, as they were seen together engaging in conversation at the 2023 Met Gala.
Anyway, it looks like Pete is pretty embarrassed when it comes to being interrogated about how he “pulls.” After Luenell asked him to take her out, the audience burst into applause, as did Pete. He responded, laughing nervously, “If that’s what it takes to stop this, yes.”
“Well, I just thought I would shoot my shot,” Luenell explained. “Because people do want to know what is the mystique? Are you super fun? Are you a really good time?” Before Pete could unfurl himself from his cringe-induced ball, John stepped in to defend his buddy. “He’s got a real electricity to him,” he explained, talking about how Pete conducted himself “like a rapper.”
“I do not want to sleep with you, I think,” Luenell concluded, before reiterating that she would like to be taken on a date to see what all the hype was about. John tried to change the subject and asked if Pete was still doing cold plunges. “Yeah,” Pete confirmed. “I’m gonna need one after tonight, that’s for sure.”
Luenell, I respect the hustle. Please report your findings after the date. For science, of course. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.
