Just last week, Ultizero Games finally released its highly anticipated PS5 console exclusive, Lost Soul Aside. Now that it has been out in the wild for a week, it seems it’s a polarizing title among its players.
New PS5 exclusive Lost Soul Aside is receiving mixed reception from players
At launch, Lost Soul Aside received middling reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 62 across 28 reviews. In a Reddit thread discussing the reviews, many players have criticized the game for a variety of reasons, many of which point to the price being too high for the game. Also, a general consensus seems to be that the game’s combat is solid. Some players are even calling it “amazing” and “very satisfying.”
“Having played the game for about 6 hours, I would say these scores are slightly too high,” says Reddit user solarshift. “The combat has some cool ideas but it feels so weightless, lacking in impact, that it kind of ruins anything fun about it. The visuals are solid but nothing mind-blowing, and everything else is pretty bad. I’d give it like a 4/10.”
“I think this game should’ve been delayed and $40 – $45 would probably been a better price point,” says Reddit user ShinyBloke. “It’s a game that you want to like, but it’s just too janky, lacks polish, it’s not a AAA game IMO.”
“Combat is very satisfying. Haptics make it even better on PS,” says Reddit user SnooGiraffes4275.
Lost Soul Aside is available for PS5 on the PS Store for $59.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available for $69.99, which comes with a few extra bits of DLC for the game. Players who are not sure if they want to grab the game can check out the free demo.
