National Rail has reported today that a number of railway lines in and out of York have been blocked or face delays following incidents.
Currently, there is one ongoing incident – a points failure on the line between York and Poppleton – which is blocking lines from York to Harrogate and some Leeds trains.

There has been two further issues, which are now cleared but have continued to cause delays.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: “A points failure between York and Darlington means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
“Additionally, a vehicle striking a bridge at York means the line is also disrupted. Trains running to / from / through this station may also be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.”
Disruption from these incidents is expected until at least 7pm today.
