RedCliff, which plans and operates drone shows using self-developed aircraft, announced on the 16th that it has conducted a Series B round of funding. The amount raised was not disclosed. In this round, in addition to existing investors DRONE FUND and Earthshot Fund, CDIB Capital Innovation Advisors Corporation, GENDA Capital, MC&C Fund, Samurai Incubate, Vector, and SHIKIGAKU (Promising Startup Investment Limited Liability Partnership) participated as new investors.
RedCliff was founded in May 2019. According to the company, it has achieved the top share in drone shows with more than 1,000 aircraft held in Japan.
RedCliff’s strength lies in drone shows that combine high-quality animation production by veteran animators with the flight performance of their self-developed specialized aircraft “EMO-JP.” In 2024, they put fireworks on drones into practical use, and in September of the same year, they flew 7,998 drones in Shenzhen, China, updating the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest display.
In their main business of planning and operating drone shows, they have numerous achievements both domestically and internationally, including advertisements and promotions, local festivals, fireworks displays, concerts and live performances, and commercial film shooting.
Their self-developed “EMO-JP” achieves an industry-leading flight time of up to 33 minutes. It is also equipped with functions that enhance safety, such as fail-safe and real-time monitoring systems. Based on these technological capabilities, they enable unique expressions such as detailed animations that draw logos and QR codes in the night sky.
In addition, RedCliff offers rental and subscription plans along with aircraft sales. They also provide programming classes where students from elementary school to adults can learn programming through drones.
With this funding, the company will strengthen business partnerships with major companies in the fields of theme parks, games, and advertising. Furthermore, they will newly introduce their dedicated aircraft “RiFF-JP” equipped with functions such as fireworks, smoke, lasers, and LEDs for drone show performances.
