“Real Akiba,” which transmits Akihabara culture to the world, announced on the 9th that it has conducted a seed round of funding totaling over 400 million yen. Startup Factory, led by broadcast writer Osamu Suzuki, Anomaly, and multiple unnamed business companies, funds, and individual investors participated.

“Real Akiba Inc.” is a startup established by newly integrating and holding multiple business companies, including Abstream Creation and ISARIBI, primarily in the entertainment and culture fields.

Led by the dance unit “REAL AKIBA BOYZ,” it includes “O-MENZ,” anisong artists “fhána,” “Kishida Kyodan & The Akeboshi Rockets,” “DOES,” and others. As influencers, it brings together the power of many talents such as “Manaris,” who achieved 2,000 days of beef bowl, and “Lovematsu,” to create entertainment where Japanese otaku, dance, anime, anisong, and other content are loved around the world.

For future prospects, three directions are indicated. First, as strengthening collaboration through holding company formation, they will gather the planning, creative production, brand, and talent resources of each company (currently 9) centered on Abstream Creation and ISARIBI, and build an integrated system from creative content development to marketing and sales expansion.

Next, in promoting culture, developing new talents, IPs, services, and global expansion, they will utilize the experience and success of “REAL AKIBA BOYZ” to produce new talents and talent groups, and produce new IPs utilizing knowledge and experience in Akihabara culture.

They will also strengthen distribution and collaboration measures for Akihabara culture on SNS and video platforms, creating new entertainment services for domestic and international audiences.

By utilizing the knowledge of Osamu Suzuki, who invested this time, they will promote planning and content production that involves users. And in expanding diverse partnerships, they will promote partnerships in a wide range of areas, such as open innovation with other companies, collaborative planning, and joint IP development.

They aim to diversify distribution channels through partnerships and acquire markets that have not yet been reached, as well as invest in and conduct M&A of companies that contribute to Akihabara culture.
