Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets are making a comeback.
After their limited release in December sold out nationwide in under a week, the fan-favorite nuggets are returning to menus on April 24.
According to Taco Bell, this will be the nuggets’ “longest run yet,” as part of the brand’s bigger plan to make crispy chicken a permanent menu item by 2026. The nuggets were first introduced on Dec. 19, and in just days, nearly 5 million customers tried them. One in six orders included the nuggets during that brief launch window.
Though chicken nuggets might seem off-brand for the taco giant, Taco Bell says breaking the mold is part of their DNA. “We’ve never been about following the rules,” the brand said in a press release, calling demand for the item “off the charts.”
The nuggets are made from all-white meat chicken, marinated in jalapeño buttermilk, and coated in a crunchy mix of breadcrumbs and tortilla chips. They’re served with three signature sauces: Hidden Valley Spicy Ranch, Jalapeño Honey Mustard, and creamy Bell Sauce.
Taco Bell says it tested more than 50 flavor combinations before landing on this final recipe, and they’ve been building buzz ever since test runs in Minneapolis (2023) and Houston (2024).
