Tether Brings USDT to LINE’s Users Through Kaia Blockchain

stablecoin to the Kaia blockchain through a partnership with Line Next, the Web3 division of Japan’s messaging app, LINE.

With this collaboration, USDT can now be used within LINE’s Mini DApp ecosystem and its self-custodial wallet.

This means users will be able to make in-app payments, transfer money across borders, and take part in decentralized finance (DeFi) activities without needing to leave the app they already use every day.

Users will see features like USDT rewards for certain actions within Mini DApps and the ability to send USDT directly to other users through LINE’s wallet. More ways to use USDT are expected to be added over time.

Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, highlighted that this change will give over 200 million users an easy way to use digital assets in their daily lives. He also said that bringing USDT to Kaia reflects Tether’s aim to increase stablecoin use across Asia and other regions.

Line Next CEO Youngsu Ko stated that this stablecoin integration will help create a “dollar-based gateway”. He believes this will make Web3 services more practical and easier to use for people in the region.

Additionally, Sam Seo, chair of the Kaia DLT Foundation, explained that Kaia’s system offers fast transactions and quick finality. He said the goal is to provide a reliable and easy USDT experience across LINE, DeFi apps, and centralized exchanges.
