50 Cent is threatening to shelve his upcoming horror flick, “Skill House,” following a dispute with the producer.
The G-Unit founder has been publicly feuding with producer Ryan Kavanaugh, sharing a series of Instagram posts that suggest the movie’s future isn’t too bright.
“They can’t release this MOVIE SKILL HOUSE without my signature which they do not have,” 50 wrote. “What kinda business are they doing? I’d hate to have to demonstrate.”
Despite the film’s scheduled July 11th release, 50 is vowing to pull the plug.
“This guy Ryan Kavanaugh is doing everything in his power to make me kill this movie,” he said. “This one is going in the trash can.”
It’s unclear what went wrong between 50 and Kavanaugh, though the latter has yet to respond.
“Skill House,” filmed in 2022, stars 50 Cent, Bryce Hall, and Paige VanZant. It quickly gained attention for its graphic content, drawing similarities to “Terrifier.” “Skill House” made headlines when a cameraman passed out during a violent scene.
Director Josh Stolberg recalled, “Yikes!!! We shot a kill scene last night, and the camera operator became so nauseated that he passed out…He’s okay now, but…get ready for some scary s**t.” 50 hyped the moment, saying, “We’re elevating horror to the next level. This is gonna change the rules of the game #skillhouse.”
Kavanaugh previously called the film “revolutionary,” adding that it “breaks barriers by leveraging the power and appeal of influencers.” Sadly, fans who were looking forward to witnessing the gorey goodness may never have that opportunity.
