Tory Lanez is lucky to be alive after surviving a brutal stabbing incident behind prison walls that left him with serious, life-threatening injuries.

According to an update shared on his official Instagram, the rapper was stabbed a shocking 14 times. The breakdown of injuries is staggering — seven wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to the left side of his face. The violence of the attack caused both of his lungs to collapse, forcing medical personnel to put him on a breathing apparatus immediately after.

The statement confirmed that Lanez is now breathing on his own again. Despite being in significant pain, he is alert, speaking normally, and reportedly in good spirits. The 31-year-old Canadian artist is said to be deeply grateful to God for helping him survive such a horrific ordeal and has also extended thanks to fans and supporters for their ongoing prayers.
