TWO, which develops the food brand “2foods” that resolves food trade-offs, announced on the 22nd that it has raised 750 million yen through a third-party allotment of shares with Environmental Energy Investment as the lead investor. With this funding, TWO’s total funding has reached 1.7 billion yen.
TWO sees “desire for food” as one of the fundamental human desires and aims to resolve trade-offs in food such as “taste” and “health,” “functionality” and “design,” “sustainability” and “price.” In product development, they prioritize “taste” and add values such as “function,” “health and beauty,” and “worldview.” Additionally, by using plant-based ingredients, they pursue health added value such as less burden on the stomach and a light texture after eating, as well as low cholesterol, low fat, and high dietary fiber.
On the 15th, they also announced the release of two types of confectionery they developed at Lawson and Natural Lawson stores nationwide.
TWO has previously signed a comprehensive business alliance agreement with Kagome in April 2021, and also conducted funding in January 2022. In the funding at that time with Kagome, they aimed to create synergy by strengthening cooperation between the two companies, such as developing joint products, and to accelerate business growth with a two-axis business strategy of store expansion and processed food development.
The funds raised this time will primarily be allocated to accelerate further business development, such as branding for 2foods, marketing for expanding existing products, and new product development.
