Design and features

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill is a versatile 2-in-1 walking and running machine. It can be easily adjusted for walking at speeds ranging from 0.6 to 4 mph, or for running at speeds between 0.6 and 7.6 mph. Although the running mode requires the handlebar to be in an upright position, I plan to use the treadmill exclusively for walking with the handlebar raised. I find that having upper body support is essential for my comfort while walking, and I may never feel at ease enough to run on a treadmill.

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill supports a 0% – 9% auto inclination feature that enables one to elevate the intensity of their workouts and can significantly increase calorie burn during a workout.

The UREVO Fitness App, while entirely optional for using the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill, is a highly valuable addition to the experience. Not only does it allow you to control the treadmill directly from your device, but it also offers a variety of exciting challenge runs and walks at different distances. These challenges are presented on the device’s display through engaging videos, accompanied by energetic exercise music. Although the app doesn’t automatically control the treadmill’s settings, it does provide an interface for control of both speed and inclination via the app’s Bluetooth connection. In addition, it provides estimated completion times and suggests recommended inclines to enhance your workout experience.

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill features two distinct displays designed for different configurations: one for the walking mode, with the handlebar folded down, and another for the running mode, with the handlebar raised. The position of the handlebar serves as an input for the treadmill, determining both the maximum speed settings and which display remains active. Upon powering on the unit, both displays briefly illuminate, but only the display corresponding to the handlebar’s position will continue to show treadmill and workout information.

No matter which display is active, both utilize a cascading sequence of information that includes the inclination angle, treadmill speed, walking/running time, distance covered, and calories burned. Each item is showcased for about 3 seconds before transitioning to the next value.

The upper display not only provides treadmill and workout information but also features a set of buttons that allow users to control various settings, such as speed and inclination. Additionally, these buttons enable users to start, pause, or stop their workouts and navigate through the treadmill’s different programs and modes.

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill features a variety of program modes that adjust both speed and incline in 10 three-minute segments. When the handlebar is in the lowered position, the program cycles through modes P01 to P03. Raising the handlebar unlocks three additional settings—P04 to P06—along with the initial modes P01 to P03, providing a comprehensive range of options for your workout.

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill includes a remote control that can be operated from any handlebar position, though it is particularly convenient when the handlebar is lowered. This allows for effortless control while exercising. Additionally, the remote features a stylish wrist lanyard, making it easy to keep within reach during workouts of any intensity.

Another way to control the treadmill while it is in the handlebar-down walking configuration is by using your mobile device equipped with the UREVO Fitness App. After pairing the App with the Strol 2S Pro via Bluetooth, you can conveniently manage the treadmill’s functions directly from your phone.

If you need to move the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill, you can easily do so by using the sturdy handle on one end and the pair of rollers on the other. Simply lift the Strol 2S Pro by the handle and then push or pull it to your desired location.

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill can be equipped with a tablet holder, but this feature is only accessible when using the treadmill in its upright handlebar configuration. One of the standout benefits of this setup is that the UREVO Fitness App is compatible with tablets, I  used an iPad, allowing you to enjoy a variety of run and walk videos set to music.

One noteworthy safety feature available only when the handlebar is upright is the Magnetic Safety Key. This key consists of a 2.25-foot cord, with a clip on one end for attaching to your clothing, and a magnet on the other end designed to connect securely to the center of the handlebar, just beneath the display. When the Magnetic Safety Key is properly configured, the treadmill will automatically reduce its speed to 0 mph the moment the magnetic connection is severed, regardless of the current speed. This deceleration is gradual, ensuring a smooth transition to a complete stop. Additionally, the error message (E 10) will appear not only on the active display but also on a connected device at the time of disconnection.

It’s important to note that when the treadmill is set to walking mode with the handlebars lowered, the Magnetic Safety Key cannot be effectively used. This is due to the lanyard being too short to connect both the walker and the treadmill simultaneously.

Assembly, Installation, Setup

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill requires minimal setup. It arrives fully assembled, and the only steps needed to get it operational include inserting batteries into the remote, and assuming one is wanting to use the handlebar, raising the handlebar to its upright position, tightening the bolts with the included hex tool, plugging it in, and attaching the Magnetic Safety Key. Once completed, the treadmill is ready for use.

As mentioned earlier, the UREVO comes with an optional companion App called the UREVO Fitness App. If you decide to download and use it, you’ll need to follow a few extra steps to create an account and connect it to your UREVO device. The process is quite similar to that of many other companion apps: simply download the app, create your account, review and accept the terms and conditions, pair your device, and you’re ready to go. To make it easier, I’ve included some screenshots that illustrate each step.

In conclusion, the treadmill comes with a recommended maintenance schedule that suggests servicing it every 100 hours of use. The procedure is outlined in the manual and involves using the included lubrication oil, making it seem quite straightforward. However, since I have not yet reached 100 hours of use, I have not performed any maintenance on the treadmill at the time of this review.

Performance

I had no significant issues with the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill. At 6’6″, I found that the handlebar could be slightly higher to better accommodate my height, and I would prefer a longer running area than the current 42 inches. However, I don’t hold this against UREVO, as the treadmill’s dimensions are clearly designed to cater to a broader segment of the population, as was the case with my 5’9” wife, who had no sizing issues at all with the treadmill.

While I briefly touched on the UREVO Fitness App and some of its features, I didn’t delve into its ability to create a pseudo-virtual experience by offering views of various walking and running routes available through the app. It also includes built-in challenges and workout recording capabilities. Personally, I find myself more inclined to rely on Apple’s workout tracking features.

The UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill isn’t limited to just using the companion App, especially for users with Apple devices. For instance, Apple Fitness+ can be accessed on your device—like my iPad, which fits perfectly on the tablet holder—and can sync with an Apple Watch if you own one. This setup allows for an enhanced workout experience while using the treadmill for Apple Fitness+ workouts. Ultimately, the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill offers a wide range of options for fitness enthusiasts.

In my previous discussion, I focused primarily on the Prog control and its settings, but I did not delve into the Mode control and its interaction with the treadmill. Although I haven’t explored this feature extensively, my limited experience reveals that pressing the Mode button enables the user to customize a workout ending based on one of three parameters: Workout Distance (1-10 miles), Calories Burned (100 – 1,000), or Workout Duration (10-90 minutes).

By using the Mode button, you can select the desired parameter, and then utilize the other buttons (‘+’, ‘-‘, ‘^’, ‘V’) to make precise adjustments. Once you’ve set your preferred values, simply hit start and adjust the treadmill’s speed and incline to meet your fitness needs. The treadmill will automatically stop once the parameter the user identified has reached the selected goal.

While using the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill, I received a notification on the UREVO Fitness App about a firmware update. Following the straightforward on-screen instructions, I successfully upgraded the treadmill’s firmware. It’s reassuring to know that any potential software bugs in the treadmill’s control system can be promptly addressed.

One thing that is really nice about the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill is that everything is really smooth.  There are nice, ramp ups and downs for both speed and the incline.  A three second countdown is present in everything that I noticed when starting the unit up. Nothing is really abrupt.  Everything is smooth!

Final thoughts

The most challenging aspect of using the UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill, as with any exercise equipment, is the same universal hurdle: personal discipline. This internal motivation is the key factor in maximizing the benefits of the UREVO treadmill. Aside from one’s willingness to exercise, there are no significant barriers associated with this treadmill.

Mentioned earlier, the UREVO Fitness App offers exercise challenges and walk/run videos that genuinely motivate users to use the treadmill. These fun discoveries are complemented by the App’s data collection capabilities, which allow users to effectively track their exercise progress.

UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill’s compact design and lightweight build make it easy to move, expanding the possibilities for where you can work out. While I didn’t attempt to store it upright, I believe doing so would be feasible. The handlebars fold away effortlessly, allowing the treadmill to fit conveniently under a standing desk for those who wish to walk while working.

What I like about UREVO Strol 2S Pro Treadmill

  • Treadmill seems relatively quiet
  • I like the separate walk and running modes
  • Smoooooth

What needs to be improved?

  • The UREVO App would be better if it interfaced with the mobile device’s password system.
  • Manual needs to be clearer in some places
  • App exercises should be more integrated into the treadmill.
