Verity has a release date people! Yes, the highly anticipated film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s very sexy and mysterious novel of the same name, will be heading to our screens in May, 2026. Here’s everything we know about the movie so far including cast and plot:
Who will star in Verity?
Anne Hathaway will portray lead character, world renowned author, Verity Crawford. Her charming husband, Jeremy Crawford, will be played by Josh Hartnett and the struggling writer who enters their lives, Lowen Ashleigh, will be played by Dakota Johnson.
No word yet on who will play Verity and Jeremy’s children.
What will the Verity film be about?
According to the official logline, “Upon arrival at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem with the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that may divulge chilling admissions about the family’s past. As Lowen ingratiates herself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, she must discern if Verity’s writings are merely lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning by a deranged psychopath.”
The book is based on Hoover’s self-published novel, released in 2018. It hit the New York Times Best Sellers list for many months.

When will Verity be released?
Verity is already in production – we know this because some paps leaked a bunch of set photos. (Who needs to see those anyway? Not us!)
It is set for release in theatres from May 15, 2026.
