Woman Fatally Injured in Semi-Truck Collision on Highway 119 [Bakersfield, CA]

38-Year-Old Woman Killed in Big-Rig Accident near Tupman Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 14, 2025) – One woman was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon, in a semi-truck collision on Highway 119.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m., just east of Tupman Road. For reasons under investigation, the female driver of a 2014 Ford Explorer veered into oncoming lanes and into the path of a 2024 Kenworth semi-truck.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the Ford driver dead at the scene. Authorities only identified her as a 38-year-old woman from Taft. Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver sustained only minor injuries.

Following preliminary duties, officers have not determined whether or not drugs or alcohol played a factor.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
