Sister Wives celeb Janelle Brown was privy to the fiasco, which started as Kody Brown’s Coyote Pass dream. He planned to build a village where each wife would have a home.
So, they bought the land, but then it sat dormant for years – except for an occasional picnic on the land—and Janelle lived out of an RV parked there one summer. Other than that, the land just sat there.
Janelle Brown could only imagine the spot on Coyote Pass where her greenhouses would go and where she would put her garden. But it never happened. So, Kody’s dream, which also became Janelle’s dream, was a bust for the Coyote Pass land. Especially as the Sister Wives plural marriage circled the drain.

Today, Sister Wives celeb Janelle Brown is doing it all by herself — making that dream come true. A few things changed, like the location. She settled in North Carolina, where she purchased a farm.
So, what Kody thought he could do with four wives and a dozen kids in tow — failed. But now Janelle has picked up the pieces and is wasting no time. And she’s loving every minute of it.
Sister Wives fans learned the fate of Coyote Pass this week – it was sold for $1.5 million. But the real shocker was what Kody did with that money.
Kody Shocks the Masses
Kody split the money equally among himself, Robyn, Janelle, and Meri. Christine had already traded her share to Kody and Robyn so she could keep the money from the sale of her Flagstaff home.
So, there were only four of the Sister Wives spouses involved in the sale, instead of five. The divvying up of the sale proceeds stunned fans. They felt for sure Kody would walk away with the lion’s share of the proceeds. But, no—he really did do something unexpected.
He gave everyone, including himself, an equal share. Janelle previously said that her future was tied up in that money she expected to get out of Coyote Pass. Now it looks like she took no time at all to start paving the road to a new chapter in her life. And she’s already posting about her progress.
Sister Wives: Janelle Lets Her Green Thumb Lead the Way
Her move to NC prompted Janelle to put that green thumb of hers to work. But not by growing vegetables—like she did in her carefully manicured gardens wherever she lived before.
Growing and selling flowers is her new gig—after much research, she found this could be a very lucrative venture. So, she bought a farm and not only plans to build her very own home there, she already started.
A Lot at Stake…
Janelle’s 50-by-50 home is already staked out, and she offered a preview of where it will be in a recent post. Plus… a bonus—Janelle pointed out where her daughter Maddie and her husband Caleb, with their four kids, will be living. They are building their own house across from Janelle.
So, Sister Wives fans think Janelle is putting Kody to shame by making the things happen that he couldn’t. Don’t forget.. Kody went on and on about what he would have on Coyote Pass.
Kody’s Coyote Pass Dream Became Huge
The Sister Wives patriarch wanted a house all his own, which the four wives turned down (with the plural marriage intact at the time). But, Janelle achieved that for herself; she’s building a house just the way she likes it. And she designed her new home around what she wants and needs.
Kody also wanted land in case any of the kids chose to come back to Flagstaff and live nearby. So at one point he envisioned his kids having houses there too. Well, that won’t happen now, but even at the time he mentioned it, the adult kids showed no interest in that.
Opposite Happens…
Now the opposite happens for Janelle, as her daughter, son-in-law, and four grandkids will live across the street from her. Then there’s another added bonus for the Sister Wives star. Christine was the first to bail and give up her Coyote Pass land—she wanted nothing to do with that. But Janelle Brown’s dream is enticing to Christine.
Christine mentioned recently how she could see herself and David having a house somewhere on Janelle’s land so they could have long stays there.
Sister Wives: A Lesson Learned?
Kody couldn’t get his wives or kids on Coyote Pass, but it looks like Janelle has moved way beyond the point her ex-hubby ever did. She made a start already, and her enthusiasm entices her family members to want to build nearby.
Plus, Christine’s daughter Mykelti and her husband, Tony, moved to North Carolina too. While Tony’s job opportunity landed them there, they are thrilled to be nearby Janelle, Maddie, and the rest of the family.
Maybe Kody can take a lesson from Janelle: if you want something bad enough, stop procrastinating. As soon as the news came out that Coyote Pass was sold, we learned Janelle was about to break ground on her new home.
Janelle Brown Comes Through!
Today she is a proud farmer-to-be, with her home right there on the property she plans to use for her flower-growing business. Maddie and Caleb are also part of this business, so she managed to land family members as partners. It seems as if Janelle did everything Kody wanted to do, except she did it on the East Coast and hit the ground running.
